Shakespeare in Love (1999)
Winner of the 1999 Academy Awards for Best Picture, Shakespeare in Love depicts a fictional love affair between a young William Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes) and Viola de Lesseps (Gwyneth Paltrow). Shakespeare, experiencing writers’ block and more or less penniless, is inspired by his love for Viola to write Romeo and Juliet.
