Wild Life Drawing for Families
Gather your brood for an inspiring drawing workshop with beautiful birds of prey; Harris Hawks, Lanner Falcons and Eagle Owls. As we sketch the birds from life on their perches, we will be able to observe their natural behaviours including preening, calling and, more often than not, falling asleep!
Our "models" will be accompanied by our expert falconer, who will be sharing amazing facts about their hunting habits, conservation and their unique personalities. Prepare to be mesmerised, and to leave with not only some lovely drawings, but also a greater understanding and appreciation of the animals you’ve drawn.
The workshop will be hosted by wildlife illustrator Jennie Webber, who will get participants of all ages sketching with a round of fun drawing exercises and helpful tips for drawing a moving subject.
The class is open to everyone, all abilities are welcome and all artistic styles are celebrated! We will provide everything you need to get sketching - drawing boards, paper and a wide range of materials - but feel free to bring along your own kit if you’d like.
We welcome children aged 7 and over, as long as they are accompanied by an adult also taking part in the class.
Wildlife Drawing we are a small team who are dedicated to animal welfare. They only ever work with the finest animal handlers, who treat their animals with care and respect, and healthy animals who are happy being around humans. The falconer who keeps these birds are Sky Birds of Prey, a trusted and experienced specialist team that work to rehome unloved birds, and to rescue, rehabilitate and re-release wild birds of prey around the South of England.
