Discover all of the different people, places and animals in the Gallery’s paintings in these interactive workshops. Each session begins with a journey through the Gallery, followed by an art-making activity. Our themes change monthly to keep your little creatives engaged. Scroll down to see our upcoming sessions.
Suggested age: 6–24 months
- We strongly recommend that you dress your children for messy play or bring a change of clothes. You may have quite a messy baby by the end of our artmaking session! We do provide wet wipes, and have toilets nearby to help clean up you little creative at the end of the workshop.
- All of the materials we work with are non-toxic and safe to put in mouths. Our ‘baby paint’ is made from cornflour, water and food colouring. Please do get in touch with us in advance if your baby has any allergies and we will provide an alternative.
Your comfort is our priority. Please do feel free to contact our Family Programme Manager, Rachel Prosser, with any queries or concerns.

We had a great time at @dulwichgallery for Mini Masterpieces this morning, delivered by our favourite facilitator, @hollydabbs 💚 We enjoyed exploring the gallery, singing loudly in quiet rooms, marvelling at the beautiful light in the mausoleum, mark making and getting very messy with edible paint! It goes without saying how much we love mark making and early writing, but we also love the gallery! I've taken many, many classes to their schools' workshops and art sessions and they also have an amazing programme of events for families. It now includes a brand new series for 2-4 year olds, designed by @hollydabbs , with stories, exploration and art. If you have 2-4 year olds, get them signed up! And if your kids are 5+, sign them up to join Holly and me for Wild Writing this summer! 😀 #dulwichpicturegallery #selondon #art #gallery #kidsingalleries #messyplay #creativekids #lovelocal
Painting with the babies in @dulwichgallery was great craic! I’m not sure how much painting was done, more eating it and pouring it all over themselves than anything! They had a blast and were knackered after it! Fully recommend! 🎨👶🏼 . . . #minimasterpiece #babyainting #babies #babiesofinstagram #9monthsold #farmyardbaby #babygirl #babyboy #babyblog #mumlife #momlife #londonmum #londonbaby #kentmums #dulwich #dulwichbabies #kentbaby #mumsofinsta #irishmammy #painting #art #babyart
