Anthony Daley: Masterclass in Abstract Painting

Sold Out

British Abstract painter, Anthony Daley, leads this experimental one-day abstract painting course exploring approaches to contemporary abstract painting through making preparatory explorative drawings before eventually finished paintings of your own.

This course is suitable for anyone interested in painting and for all levels of ability from the absolute beginner through to the abstract-critical or even the figuration-bound artist seeking to imagine new horizons. Daley invites us to experiment, explore and conjure at the juncture where thought combines with the practical stuff of applying paint on canvas to create awe and magic.

Anthony Daley came to the UK from Jamaica in 1972, studying at Wimbledon College of Arts in 1982 and Chelsea College of Arts in 1983. Daley was awarded the Pollock-Krasner Painting Fellowship in 1984 and has been the subject of more than 25 solo exhibitions internationally, including exhibitions in London, New York, Los Angeles and Zurich. His work is held by major public institutions including Tate and National Portrait Gallery.

Anthony Daley: Son of Rubens, a new body of work exploring his career-long fascination with the work of 17th century Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens is on display 27 August 2022 - 5 March 2023.
