Picture Description Talk: Collection
Picture Description talks are designed for blind or visually impaired visitors. Delivered by our trained guides, each talk introduces paintings from the collection followed by a group discussion.
This talk is an introduction to the Dulwich Picture Gallery Collection of over 600 works rich in European masterpieces including Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Canaletto and Poussin.
Founded in 1811, Dulwich Picture Gallery was the first purpose-built public art gallery to open to the public and remains one of Britain’s most valued artistic and architectural treasures housing French, Italian and Spanish Baroque paintings as well as British portraits from Tudor times to the 19th century.
