Bronze Oak Grove
We are currently fundraising to acquire the beautiful sculpture, Bronze Oak Grove by celebrated contemporary artists, husband-and-wife duo Rob & Nicky Carter. This incomparable sculpture consists of nine oak tree stumps cast in Bronze. It brings to life a 17th-century pen and ink drawing by the Dutch Old Master, Jacob de Gheyn II. The sculpture sets the tone for our planned sculpture garden, linking the art outdoors to the paintings inside the Gallery, where we have a portrait of Jacob de Gheyn II’s son by Rembrandt.
Bronze Oak Grove can be sat on, played on, and enhances the experience of the Gallery gardens, epitomising our vision to be a cultural destination for everyone to find themselves in art.
Rob & Nicky have generously given us the opportunity to purchase this sculpture for the fabrication price alone of £176,500 + VAT. We are now actively fundraising to help us to achieve our goal of adding this piece to our collection.
We are delighted to have secured a grant of £50,000 towards this acquisition from the V&A Purchase Grant Fund. We are now looking for generous donors to help us to raise the rest.
Any donation, large or small, would be instrumental in helping us to achieve our ambition.
