Fox and Poultry

The fox recurs in a signed work by Paul de Vos in a private collection, Madrid (see cat. exh. "Le Siecle de Rubens", Musees Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique, Brussels, 1965, no.300). DPG597 may be a copy of a lost work by Paul de Vos, as suggested by the existence of another version, sold at Christie's, Amsterdam, 29 May 1986 (lot 106, as 'Follower of De Vos').
