About the speaker: Ian Lord McColl CBE
Lord Ian McColl of Dulwich joined the House of Lords in 1989, works as a Consultant Surgeon for Mercy Ships and was previously Professor and Chairman at the Department of Surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School (1971-99). He has sat on committees on Medical Ethics, Science and Technology, Assisted Dying, HIV and AIDS, Modern Slavery, Equality and the long-term sustainability of the NHS. He is Chariman of Mercy Ships UK, President of Limbless Association, President of Leprosy Mission and President of St Christopher’s Hospice.
