Reopening our Gardens: An update from Jennifer Scott, The Sackler Director
I am delighted to share that Dulwich Picture Gallery’s gardens will reopen from this Saturday 4 July, along with our pop-up shop and café. We know how much our visitors have missed the chance to explore our gardens and enjoy this peaceful setting. Our three acres of outdoor space offers the opportunity to be amongst nature while enjoying art and architecture including Sir John Soane’s incomparable exterior of the Gallery, our Walking the Dog sculpture by Peter Randall Page, and our majestic trees. I very much look forward to welcoming you back. Click here to find out more about what you can do during your visit or see our FAQs page for more detailed information.
This is a critical time for the Gallery’s future, particularly as we don’t receive government or local authority funding. We will only be able to re-open the Gallery itself and re-launch our exciting exhibition programme once we know that we can ensure everybody’s safety and that we are able to cover the costs. This is not something that we can rush, and I am enormously grateful to everyone for supporting us through the most challenging time for us since the Second World War.
We are working hard to plan for a full re-opening in the autumn. Please make sure you are following us on social media @DulwichGallery or are signed up to our mailing list for updates.
