Your chance to appear in brand new illustration of the Gallery!
Visitors to Dulwich Picture Gallery have the exciting opportunity to appear in a brand new illustration of the Gallery by London-based illustrator Natsko Seki.
In her playful trademark style, Natsko will re-imagine the Gallery in a collage of drawings and photographs, bursting with colour. The illustration will inspire a new range of merchandise for the Gallery’s acclaimed gift shop.
What’s more, the illustration will also include photographs of real-life visitors to the Gallery! In the final work visitors will mingle with and even pose as well-known subjects from our permanent collection, bringing the Gallery’s paintings to life.
That's where you come in! Fancy being part of the illustration? On Sunday 16 August Natsko will be in the Gallery grounds from 11am-1pm and 2-4pm, photographing visitors to collage into her final design. If your photo is chosen, you’ll be in good company- Murillo’s The Flower Girl, Rembrandt’s Girl at a Window and characters from Poussin’s Triumph of David already feature in the illustration.
“I enjoy taking photographs as much as drawing. By including real people the work becomes more personal” said Natsko. “On the day I will ask visitors to copy the postures of some of the figures from popular paintings at the Gallery, and they will become those figures in the final work. I will also photograph visitors walking, talking and having fun, and they will be part of my illustrations too.”
